Next time you visit the Cotswolds, make sure you head to The Potting Shed for a great dinner or lunch. Better yet, include a stay at the luxurious Dormy House Hotel – The Potting Shed is its onsite restaurant-pub.

The Potting Shed Menu
The Potting Shed menu has great options for both meat-eaters and vegetarians. Unlike most places, there’s more than one veggie option. It took me ages to decide as everything sounded mouth wateringly delicious.
I whittled my starter options down to the goats cheese and beetroot tart, or a mug of sweet potato soup. My meat eating friend was equally challenged and struggled to decide, before eventually picking a chicken and parma ham terrine.
Picking a main was a similar happy dilemma; classic fish and chips, vegetable and potato pie with a thyme pastry and hand cut chips, or orzo pasta, butternut squash, spinach and feta.
He chose the roasted pork belly on a bed of mashed potatoes and gravy. As a work of art, even I thought it looked impressively good and his ‘oh wow’ and ‘mmmms’ assured me it scored well on the taste test.

Happy stomachs and happy faces, we were well and truly full. Thank the stars we bought our second dessert bellies with us. The real highlight of my meal was my millionaire shortbread mousse with salted peanut ice cream. I wasn’t sure the ice cream would work as I’m not massively keen on peanuts, but trust me it does.
In the interest of erm, research, the crème brulee was also sampled. Ten out of ten.
I absolutely loved my meal at The Potting Shed and I’d bet money that if you visited, you would too. Three courses (excluding drinks) will set you back about £25-30.
