When you travel a lot hotels can blend into one. There needs to be something really unique and exciting to make a stay there particularly memorable. Equally if you don’t travel too often, but want to splash the cash for a big indulgent splurge you want it to be a pretty special stay.
Step forward London Marriott Hotel County Hall and their shiny new Silver Lining Service. I can honestly say that this concept is one of the most original that I’ve come across in a while and actually, it makes perfect sense.
What’s the one thing that us Brits always, always talk about?
The weather! You’d think we’d be bored of it, but it’s quite the opposite. It bonds us when meeting new people, it shapes our wardrobe and influences what we get up to. This month has seen some of the hottest recorded days (I think my bump has felt every single degree!), as well as a fair share of grey, windy days (aka bad hair days). It’s just so hard to predict what each week will bring, which can make planning a trip to the city a tricky one.
That is of course, unless you’re a famous meteorologist.
The guys at London Marriott Hotel County Hall are clearly top of their game because they’ve drafted in Kirsty McCabe’s expertise to create tailored packages based on the weather. Intrigued?
Here are six reasons to love the new Silver Living Service…
It’s hard enough to pick one or two activities from thousands on offer in London, so when the weather interferes with your plans it can be super annoying. The world’s best concierge works at this hotel. He and his team create a list of suggested things to see and do based on Kirsty’s (the meteorologist) weather insights.
They encourage guests to enjoy outdoor activities in the sunshine and save the underground things for the rainier days. When you check-in you’ll find a card with a selection of perfectly suited activities and sights, including both tourist hot spots and some less well-known ones. It’s so helpful.
Everyone loves a present and there’s lots to like about the thoughtful ones you receive as part of the Silver Lining Service. For sunnier days there are things like Clarins suncare products (the lip oil is amazing) and USB fans, whilst for rainier days there are generously sized umbrellas and such like. I think it’s quite exciting not knowing what you’ll find in your room!
Visiting on a blustery day? The hair team can blow dry your ‘do and have you feeling stylish in no time. Visiting during heatwave? Get a summer pedi and get those toes out. Like me, you can even choose a colour that matches the furniture! The treatments on offer are tailored to the weather and included as standard in the Silver Lining Service.
At the moment the weather reactive package is offered in the suites. As well as being classy and stylish, it’s in an amazing location in central London. More than that though, the views are incredible.
The suites look out onto the River Thames, enjoying views of Big Ben and the London Eye. I felt like I could reach the Eye from window if I really wanted to. It was incredible. If like me you don’t live in London and still feel like a tourist, it feels really magical and unreal to be blessed with sunset views over that backdrop.
London Marriott Hotel County Hall is a luxurious 5* former county hall that’s steeped in history, but renovated in contemporary chic – my favourite fusion. There are quirky touches throughout the building, like the art in the rooms and the map wallpaper. The staff are welcoming, friendly and down to earth. The Silver Lining Service almost feels like a novelty, but in a super stylish, fun way. Who says luxury has to be boring?
Access to the M-Club Lounge
Staying in one of the suites gains you access to the private M-Club Lounge on the fifth floor. It’s a cosy room that offers gorgeous views, drinks and snacks. It’s also where you can enjoy a leisurely breakfast without all the bustle of the hotel’s other guests.
I stayed in a beautiful room on the fourth floor. Come and have a room tour in my latest video…

Big thanks to London Marriott Hotel County Hall for hosting my indulgent, stylish stay.
