Meet Petunia from Munich

Munich, Germany

Sometimes two wheels are better than two feet, especially when those two wheels belong to a cute pink body in the form of Petunia. Yes, I named my bike, what’s wrong with that? She was so pretty she deserved a name.

I popped along to Mike’s Bike Tours, conveniently housed in the centre of Munich, near to the Hard Rock Café. I’m not sure if the guy was the Mike, but he was super laid back and cool – a bit of a dude. I skipped the two hour tour and decided to hire a bike for two days so that I could create my own circle around the city. Not bad for 25euros, eh?

He paired me with one of the few pink cruisers. I was secretly delighted – she was a stunner!

The whole city is flat and has lovely big bicycle lanes; perfect for dawdlers and speedsters.

I ambled about The Englischen Garten, which to be honest, I think I could have spent the whole two days in. It is mahussive and so so so pretty. October was the best month to stop by; shades of golds, reds and yellow, with leaves falling from the sky like snowflakes.

Most of the major sites are easily accessible by bike within a thirty minute radius.

As well as the garden, I checked out Konigsplatz, Marienplatz, the former Olympic site, Nymphenburg Palace, the Chinese Tower…well, why don’t you check out my #TravelTrailer and see for yourself…

Have you used Mike’s Bike Tours before? If not, do you fancy cycling round Munich? What do you think to my first city video? Hopefully not bad for a novice. I think my song choice deserves at least five points.

Lots of Munich love from me and Petunia X

I hired a rather fetching baby pink cruiser (that I naturally named Petunia) through Mike’s Bike Tours. Cycling through the crisp autumn leaves; golds and burning reds falling from the strongly fierce, yet elegant tall trees, and breathing in the fresh air, was so invigorating. Day hire charges cost under 30Euros. You can find out more here. […]
