Have you heard of IPW? The U.S. Travel Association’s IPW is an international marketplace. It brings together more than one thousand travel organisations from every region of the USA, so that they can meet with journalists, PRs and more. This year it’s being held in Orlando, Florida. Yes, sunny Orlando in the sunshine state. If ‘marketplace’ didn’t get you excited, I’m sure the mention of sun captured your attention!
Whether you want to go to Orlando for a holiday or specifically for IPW 2015, Virgin Holidays offer some really affordable flights from London to Orlando (not to mention cool perks). They’ve teamed up with IPW (hence #IPWVirgin) to offer return flights for one lucky winner. That person will also get to attend IPW, as well as taking part in a special press trip.
Of course, being the writer geek and travel obssessive that I am, I’m hoping it will be me. I’ve loved every single conference (IMM, WTM, Traverse etc) I’ve been to in the UK, even blogging my tips and recommendations for them, but IPW is different. It brings together hundreds and hundreds of PRs, travel boards etc from all over the states, which just so happens to be my favourite part of the world. San Fran stole my heart, Texas made my top ten for 2015, NYC has so many happy memories…you get the idea.
Not only that, but Virgin is an amazing brand. Ever since I based my GCSEs Graphic Design project on Virgin I’ve been hooked. The Virgin popcorn bucket I designed totally rocked! To have the opportunity to write for their blog, Virgin Holidays Unleashed, would be a dream come true.
The chance to experience (and share) the unique, stylish and exciting side of Orlando is also a big deal. My recent trip to San Fran resulted in over fifteen chunky blog posts, as well as two on other sites, so it’s fair to say I’m brimming with passion for the states! Besides those reasons I’ve filmed a little #TravelTrailer vlog on why I’d love to go…
^^ Can’t wait to upgrade to my new video camera next month!
Obviously if I don’t win though, I’d love for the winner to be one of you fellow travel bloggers. The world of journalism is changing so much, especially in travel. With bloggers creating evergreen content that snowballs through social media and weaves webs of interlinked, useful information, it really is an exciting time. We’re wordsmiths, photographers, vloggers, PRs, techies and more, all rolled into one. I can’t wait to be part of a new generation of IPWers, whether that’s in person if I’m chosen, or vicariously through your write-up.

One thing’s for sure, if I don’t make it to IPW 2015, I’ll definitely be in the US soon.
What do you think of my entry? Have you been to IPW before? Are you going to enter? I’d love to hear from you. X
