As you read this I’m currently in San Francisco. I’ve just returned to the city after spending a few days road trippin’ with Escape Campervans in the most unbelievably cool van.
One of the places I’d recommend stopping at is Carmel-By-The-Sea. It’s a beautiful coastal spot with high-end shops and cute cafes. However, the main reason for paying this place a visit is sunset on the beach. Yesterday I spent my birthday eve (like Christmas Eve!) here and loved every second. If you’re following me on Instagram I’m sure you can see why.
It’s my birthday today and sadly the weather is no where near as good as yesterday. In fact, we’re currently in a major storm – supposedly the worst to hit California in five years. Massive trees have fallen and there have been landslides. It was definitely very scary driving on Highway 1 which is on the edge of the cliffs and coastline. Half of San Francisco is without power and they’ve even closed bits of Macy’s down. Tonight I’m spending my birthday at Kurios – a Cirque Du Soleil show, which is in a big top tent so hopefully it won’t blow away. Fingers crossed!!
I haven’t got time to share all the exciting details of my road trip with you just yet. However, in the meantime I thought you might like to see and hear a little bit of what I’ve been up to over the last few days…
Thank you to those of you who have sent me lovely birthday messages! :) How’s your week so far? X
