City Nites Birmingham has to be one of the cheapest apartments in Birmingham for 1 night. And one of the most central.
You can rent a whole apartment for less than a £100 per night. Not to mention, that you get access to so much more than you would in a pricier hotel room; a kitchen, living room etc.
So, is a stay at City Nites Apartments Birmingham really worth it?

Disclosure: My stay was gifted in return for a blog post.
If you want to be in on the action, without compromising space or paying city prices, then yes, you get a lot for your money at this hotel apartment.
Spacious Apartments
This weekend my family stayed in one of their two-bedroom apartments. Each bedroom has a massive bed – so big that in fact, we probably all could have shared one. Instead, Kit and I took one room and Jay and Nova the other.
The apartment has a family bathroom. Plus, one room also has its own roomy en suite. Oh and then there’s a open plan living room/kitchen/diner and balcony. When it comes to family travel it’s rare that we feel we have enough space, but here we had more than enough.

Convenient Location
The City Nites apartments are just a 10-minute walk to the famous Birmingham German Christmas Market – the largest authentic German Christmas market outside of Germany or Austria. Here stalls fill the main streets, selling gifts, treats and tempting steins of beer.

Many people travel to Birmingham especially for the market and that’s certainly true with my family and friends. It’s become a bit of a tradition. At City Nites you can be part of the fun, but then escape the hustle and bustle of it all.

Obviously if you’re not visiting in November or December you’ll miss out on this, but this space is filled with many shops throughout the year.
And a little less than a 10-minute walk from City Nites Birmingham you’ll find LEGOLAND Discovery Centre, which I definitely recommend visiting if you have children. Nova and Kit aren’t really into LEGO, but they loved it here so much we spent the whole morning there. Entry is super cheap too.

The apartments are also close to Sea Life – Birmingham’s aquarium. The closest spot has to be the arena though. As the ‘Arena View Apartments’ name suggest they are super close. I’ve seen many concerts there and have often spent an hour trying to get out of the car park, let alone home, so they’d be great for that sort of night too.

Home From Home
Expect an apartment hotel. Downstairs you’ll find a cute reception, with real staff (rather than an automated computer), tea and coffee. Then once you head to your apartment it feels like you’re staying at someone’s home.

Everything is clean, all the facilities are there, but it feels like a friend of a friend’s place, rather than a glossy hotel.

All of the apartments have their own unique layouts and décor. I would say you don’t stay here for the design element, though the Christmas tree in our apartment blew Nova and Kit’s little minds, but more so for the convenience, space and price tag.

Direct Booking Perks
And what’s more, if you book directly through City Nites you get some generous perks, such as priority early check-in, discounted car parking (more on that below) and a reduced security deposit.
City Nites Parking
Parking is available on site. There are a few spots, depending on which apartment block you’re staying in. You’ll need a code from reception and a pass to put on your dash. Jay pulled up in the side street, whilst I got the details and then we moved the car.
Parking is in designated bays and is secure. From the car park you can then use the stairs or lift to the apartment.
