What to Pack for a Weekend Away

What to Pack for a Weekend Away

As part of the #Blog4Trek competition (exciting details here), I’m sharing my pearls of wisdom on what to pack for a weekend away.

♥ Your Phone
Forget bulky cameras, if you have a decent mobile you can take amazing snaps – most of mine are taken on my iPhone. It also doubles up as a torch, a phrase book, a map…well, pretty much everything you need. With free wi-fi in an ever-growing list of hotels and cafés you also have the chance to share your travels with your friends at home. Just remember to turn data roaming off to avoid a hefty phone bill.

You don’t need a fancy camera to take great snaps.

♥ Your Sense of Adventure
Travelling is so much fun, largely because even the most planned trips can end up taking a detour. You never know who you’re going to meet or what might be around the corner. Indulge your free-spirit and curiosity; go with the flow. Don’t stress about the small details, enjoy the adventure.

Skydive
Live in the moment and forget your fears (even if it does make you scream)

♥ Your Passport
A weekend jaunt to Paris or Belgium via the Eurostar is so easy. As there’s no flight involved your passport could easily slip your mind. It’s your precious ticket to travel. Always check, double-check and triple-check that you have it.

♥ Capsule Wardrobe
You don’t want to carry a heavy bag or mess about going to the hotel first to dump your luggage. A weekend break is all about maximising your time in your new destination. Use a small bag and pack a few simple clothes (single colours for easy matching) and a couple of bright accessories to dress up an otherwise casual outfit.
