Say bonjour to The Catalina. An all round amazing, gorgeous weekender bag from Lo & Sons.
I know it’s perhaps bad form, but I really do live for the weekend. I love that my favourite people are around for catch ups. I love that it’s perfectly acceptable to eat homemade waffles for breakfast and bubbles for liquid lunches. I love that lazy, mooching feeling and lying in bed as the sun begins to drift through the gap of the curtains. I mostly love it though because a weekend brings the opportunity of a weekend break.
Whether it’s a cheeky city break in Europe or a classy overnight stay in a stylish hotel down the road, I’m easily pleased if it involves travel. Mostly because it’s an excuse to use my favourite new travel accessory. I say accessory, but I guess it’s technically a piece of luggage. It’s just so, so pretty and I know you’re going to love it as much as me.
Weekend breaks are all about throwing your favourite things together and hitting the road. There’s no time to meticulously fold or roll every item, or to deal with the dilemma of what to pack and what not to pack. The Catalina is a big beauty. It’s a simple, spacious bag that has room for everything you could possibly need for a weekend break. There’s room for a laptop, clothes, toiletries, a camera – whatever you need really.
Made from a soft, yet study canvas it’s a versatile bag. Even if you’re well trained to pack light, it easily compresses to fit underneath a seat or in a small luggage rack. It can basically be whatever you need it to be. To Olive, this means a bag that matches her scraggly puppy fur and one that she can practically fit in (or sit on if she doesn’t want me to go without her).
The Catalina is part of a collection of highly practical and equally stunning bags from Lo & Sons. Most of the best businesses out there have been formed to fill a gap in the market, and Lo & Sons is part of that admirable crowd. Helen Lo had back issues and struggled to find a bag that would keep up with her many travels. Her two sons encouraged Helen to invent her own and with their determination, Lo & Sons was born.
They’ve been perfected to benefit jet-setters like you and me. They’re incredibly lightweight, durable and reliable. Pockets and zippers are placed where you need them. You can see for yourself just how stylish The Catalina is (especially this one in thistle – a grey/lilac) and the rest of the collection is just as lust-worthy. This weekender bag even has a bottom zipper section, which is the perfect space for fitting a couple of pairs of shoes or your straightners. It’s like every need has been thought of and factored into this masterpiece.
The Catalina costs $120 (about £77) and is well worth the investment. I can see myself using it for day trips to the city so that I can fit my regular handbag stuff and laptop gear all in one manageable bag. It’s fair to say that The Catalina has stolen my heart (obviously, as well as Olive) and I’m sure it’ll be yours next. It’s successfully made it onto the THT Loves page as one of my top three recommendations.
I’m a Lo & Sons convert now and have my eyes on The Pearl (but I’ll perhaps celebrate that creation another time). X
Big thanks to Lo & Sons for introducing me to my new favourite travel possession, The Catalina.
